Hello my lovelies,
I have spent the past few weeks in another blogging slump - well, more of a general "I am hideous and cannot post my mug all other the web" slump and thus have not been even slightly motivated to get the camera out.
Then I had a revelation - I don't need to post photos of MYSELF. I can post about lovely pretty gorgeous things instead. Like these.
Scent is such a subjective issue that I have always been in two minds about posting about perfume. I can't exactly swatch it, my perfume vocabulary stretches to "it smells nice" and I can't hand out test strips for people to try! But I can show you pictures of pretty bottles!
I think of these as my perfect summer fragrances for multiple reasons. First of all, they are green! Seeing these bottles on my shelf just cheers me up, especially the Oh Lola Sunsheer one. Just look at that flower! Not being particularly green-fingered myself, this is as close as I will get to having an actual plant in my bedroom.
Secondly, they both smell deliciously fresh. I can't put my finger on what it is, but every time I wear one of these, I catch myself sniffing my wrists and thinking "my gosh I smell good" (please tell me I'm not the only one who does this). Oh Lola Sunsheer in particular evokes a feeling of summer and lying about in floaty dresses whilst sipping icy drinks (my ideal summer, in all honesty). I truly, truly love this perfume and am gutted it is limited edition - I'm already considering buying another bottle! I also like changing fragrances with the seasons - in winter I quite like my long-lasting, strong fragrances (a favourite is Lancome Tresor Midnight Rose...it also smells like jellybabies on me), but in summer I just want to smell airy and carefree!
I like to wear the Chanel when I want to feel more grown-up, more elegant, when I just want to smell expensive dammit! Unlike my other favourite Coco Mademoiselle, this isn't too overwhelming - just a hint of beautiful freshness (I honestly can't think of a better word - told you I couldn't do this!). It is expensive but Chanel perfumes always last ages for me, probably because I save them for special occasions!
Marc Jacobs Oh Lola! Sunsheer - £47 for 50ml
Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche - £52 for 50ml
Are you a one-fragrance gal or do you like to chop and change like me? What's your favourite summer perfume?
Love Dani xoxo
