Hello my lovelies!
I am rather partial to seeing what other people have in their make-up bags (I can't help it, I'm nosy!) so I thought I'd jump aboard the bandwagon and reveal my daily products! These are the items I have been using every day this month and they're what I take with me on my regular trips to Essex (sadly not home, but it's fast becoming my second home as it's where the future in-laws live!).
Notice the distinct lack of foundation? Sob...although it does make it easier to carry it all around.
Collection 2000 concealer is a must, and it starts off my make-up routine. I put it everywhere that needs it, so any blemishes and under-eye circles are covered up. Then I use By Terry Touche Veloutee under my eyes and maybe anywhere I feel needs highlighting. If I remember, I use the NYC powder to keep my concealer in place (does not work as well as foundation!)
Next I use Sleek Rose Gold on my cheeks (seriously pretty! Love the gold shimmer!), and, depending on my mood, a slick of Collection 2000 eye liner. If I can't be bothered with liner, I just curl my lashes and use loads of mascara and...done! Well, not exactly.
I like to think of this as my "low-maintenance" look and I'm usually happy with it just after applying, but give it a few minutes and I'll start getting all self-conscious about my skin again! So, to remedy this, I pop on a bit of lippie, either the Max Factor pen, or Barry M 145 if I want a brighter look, and this takes my mind off my awful skin.
It's weird seeing how little I use now (although it's probably a lot compared to some people) because my regular make-up bag is...well, massive, hence this post title. The other make-up bag does have to carry foundation and eyeshadows around too (because a girl has to experiment right?) so when I've finished No-Foundation-February I can show you what my normal routine entails!

Erm, I really don't know what's up with my arm in these photos...I guess all this strenuous essay-writing has left me needing to raise my arm above my head? Stretching...yes...
Anyway, hello! Today's outfit is a rarity for me as I'm dressing the way I did way back when I was at school (minus the leather jacket - I was not that cool at school) and the T-shirt is actually so ancient that the pattern has partly come off. But the unique thing that makes this outfit so curious is this...
Wearing: Next leather jacket, random-shop-in-Spain t-shirt, Miss Selfridge jeans via eBay.
JEANS. Yes, those are actual jeans! Not jeggings, not leggings, not tights...I have abandoned my usual uniform in favour of these lovely high-waisted jeans I got off eBay. They arrived today so I had to put them on...sadly due to my essay-over-eating they're a bit tight but they're the perfect length (I have stubby legs) and, well, they do up, and who needs to breathe, right? The best part is I got them for £9 plus postage whereas they retail for about £40 in the shop!
No-Foundation-February update: I can't lie, I can't WAIT for Tuesday so I can wear foundation again! It probably hasn't helped that I've been ill basically all of February and so my skin is super spotty but not wearing foundation hasn't really shown me any benefits! Instead I'm really playing up my other features (today I'm wearing Barry M Chocolate dazzle dust as an eyeliner to try and create a smoky eye) to detract attention from my spots, which I wouldn't have to do if I was wearing foundation... Bah.
Hope you're all doing well! Apparently it's good weather today... not in Canterbury, it's still rather gloomy! But if you're lucky enough to have sunshine then enjoy it!
xoxo
Hello my lovelies!
Those of you with iPhones and shopping addictions may appreciate this nifty little app - it's called Shop Style and basically what it does is let you search loads of online (high end and high street) shops for items you want! You can make a favourites list, or there's a helpful option that lets you watch things you want and tells you when they go in the sale! Excellent news for poor people like me (I rarely buy anything full price these days...) this way I am less likely to miss out on bargains!
Above are my favourite items so far, unsurprisingly most are from Dorothy Perkins as they just make the most perfect dresses, in my opinion at least!
What do you think of this? Are there any other helpful apps out there you'd recommend? Are you as obsessed with clothes as I am (silly question, I suppose...) let me know!

Hello my lovelies!
I don't know what's up with my face in these pictures, I thought I was smiling but clearly my mouth had other ideas! Just thought I'd show you the other version of the New Look Peter Pan collar dress I got, simply because I raved about it so much and then forgot to blog about it!
Dress - New Look, headband - Accessorize
I really like the shape of these dresses, anything nipped in at the waist simply floats my boat. I need more, sadly my loan hasn't come in yet so I'm unable to buy anything new.
A whole week of essay-writing awaits me now so I apologise in advance if my blogging slows down a bit! Hope you are all well and have enjoyed a lovely weekend - I have!

Hello my lovelies!
I just seem to be ill all the time at the moment, which is depressing to say the least! It's also really cold today which isn't helping. I'm more concerned now with wrapping up warm rather than looking somewhat ~stylish~ so instead of my outfit I thought I'd show you my ugly mug! Not that I think I'm ugly...or pretty...or whatever...I just like the way ugly and mug seem to rhyme...gah, is anyone else just kind of ambivalent towards their looks? I used to think I was absolutely hideous but now I've got used to my face, if that makes sense! Anyway, I digress...
I think I said in a previous post that I'd picked up two Barry M Dazzle Dusts for £7 in Boots, and they go together quite nicely so I've been trying to create a smoky eye, kind of. I have the colours "Brass" and "Chocolate" (in other words, numbers 100 and 53). They usually retail for £4.59 each so it's worth picking them up in this particular deal!
Here they are close up:
Both are absolutely gorgeous, but, like any loose eyeshadow, VERY MESSY. I managed to get Chocolate all over my cheek today and spent five minutes trying to get it off...I still have random brown bits all over my face but I'm pretending they're freckles. Anyway, here's how I like to wear them:
First I sweep a bit of Brass all over my eyelid, trying to keep it neat (difficult!). You really don't need a lot of this, I've found out...the teensiest amount will do, otherwise there's loads of fallout. After that, I use an angled eyeliner brush to line my top and bottom lashes with Chocolate, because it blends nicely with Brass, nicer than a regular black eyeliner does at any rate:
And then I add a sweep of mascara and I'm done! It's a bit dramatic for daytime I suppose but I like drawing attention to my eyes, especially since my skin is a bit rubbish (I know, I go on about my skin all the time, but if you had my skin you probably would too!).
I suppose this post's title is a bit misleading as I haven't actually shown you all my face but because I'm ill, I look a bit of a mess at the moment, even with make-up (just imagine streaming eyes, massive under eye bags and a bright red nose and you're almost there) so I'll have to show this look properly another time! I just really wanted to show you these lovely colours because I'm so in love with them and it's really propelled me to be a bit more, erm, adventurous with my make-up.
What are your favourite Barry M shades, if any? I was drawn to so many at the counter but my lack of funds prevented me from buying them all! I was tempted by a turquoise but not sure how often I'd wear it...
xoxo
Hello my darlings! Hope you enjoyed my silly post earlier! Woke up today feeling rather ill again, just after I thought I'd beaten the virus, so apologies for my can't-be-bothered face (trust me, the full-length photo was worse!)
The dress and cardie are both H&M, the dress was in their last sale, and the cardie is part of the 50% off knitwear thing they're doing at the moment, so if you're after some short sweet cardigans I recommend you head there now as it was only £4.99! The colour makes me feel like it's spring, helped by the bit of sunshine we had today!
As for No-Foundation-February...I have never appreciated foundation so much! I really hate how tired and sallow my skin looks without it at the moment, I'm slathering it in face masks just to try and pep it up a bit. Still, only 11 days left...
xoxo
Hello my honey bunnies!
You may have noticed the plural 'faces' in today's post title - this is because last night, my friends and I decided to mess around with make-up! Stephie decided to go for a new take on a geisha look, Geo wanted to go all-out bright, and as for me, I was in a 'pink' mood...and these are the results!!
Sorry for this silly post! Normal blogging shall resume shortly :D
(Products I used: Stargazer pink liquid liner, 17 eyeshadow as blusher, Barry M lippie in 145, Collection 2000 mascara and concealer!)
xoxo
Hello my lovelies!
Nothing too exciting for you today as I reverted to one of my favourite outfits, the DP tea dress and a cardie!
This is definitely my go-to outfit for when I haven't planned anything or when everything new is in the wash, I love this dress so much, I wish I'd bought more when it was out!
I straightened my hair a bit today with my new straighteners and they are lovely but my hair doesn't stay straight very long as a general rule, so I might have to use the highest heat setting in future (blegh!). Make-up-wise I am STILL without foundation...and if anything else my skin has got worse! I'm even spottier than when I started, I'm hoping this is just because I am run down though.
My skin woes were dismissed, though, when I came home from uni to find my prize from Sarah's lovely giveaway in which I was a runner up! It was beautifully wrapped, you could see the amount of care that had gone in to it and I particularly loved the different bits of wrapping paper!
It was this beautiful necklace, it's so gorgeous and dainty, I had to put it on straight away! So happy! I never ever win anything and I've managed to win two giveaways this week so I'm over the moon (and buying a lottery ticket just in case ;) )
How is your week going?
xoxo
Hello my lovely readers! Sorry, sorry, sorry for my absence in the last week, I've been so busy, so ill and so uninspired! Because I've been ill I haven't been taking the time to plan outfits properly so they haven't been worth photographing, and I don't see the point in uploading 'blah' outfits on here!
I thought to keep you entertained for a few seconds I could show you some recent buys (very interesting, I know) and...I WON A GIVEAWAY! Yes, me! Little old me! I've never won anything before in my life so to say I'm pleased would be an understatement. The lovely Shortiee31 was running a skincare giveaway and I've won some lovely Fade Out goodies.
There's a moisturiser and an eye cream; I can't wait to try these out and see if they work! I shall report back in due course.
I also picked up a lovely replacement satchel in Peacocks (RIP Next satchel...I loved you dearly)...
...and some new Nicky Clarke hair straighteners! I found these in TK Maxx for only £16.99, and as my ghds have well and truly snuffed it these were most definitely needed.
I've got some posts planned, I just need to take the relevant photos and somehow find the time to put them together. Once again, I'm so sorry for being such a rubbish blogger this week! Please forgive me?
Have you bought anything interesting lately?
xoxo
Hello my lovely readers!
I've been a bit slack on the blogging this week so I'll try and blog more at the weekend to make up for it! It's all a bit hectic at the moment with uni work, my MA application and on top of that I'm ill (again!) but I've got some ideas for future posts. Maybe a 'what's in my make-up bag' style post? Are people into that? Let me know!
Today I wore an outfit consisting of items I've worn on the blog before, just not together...I give you the Dorothy Perkins tunic with the Zara skirt! I quite like this colour combination, so I'm keeping an eye out for more tops in that lovely berry colour! Recently I had a big clear-out of my wardrobe and have heaps of bags to take to a charity shop so I'm trying different combinations with the items I do have until my loan comes in and I can replenish my wardrobe once more (hurrah!). I'm also toying with the idea of wearing jeans...I just threw loads out because they were so ill-fitting and I don't wear trousers anymore as a rule, but today something weird came over me and I tried on some high-waisted jeans in Topshop which fit me quite well...I just can't justify spending £40 on them though! Do you know anywhere that does nice high-waisted skinnies? I'm so out of the loop when it comes to jeans!
No-Foundation-February update: So I've been without foundation for 9 days now and although I love how fast my make-up routine is now, I've broken out! My skin must be so used to wearing a mask that it's reacted adversely to the...air? I don't know! Anyway, I thought I'd pop in a quick photo (sans eye-make-up I must add) so you can see how it's going and how I'm really trying to play up my lips and cheeks in order to detract from the horrid skin. This was taken before my break-out, but I still hate how uneven my skin tone looks. Gah. I really hope this no foundation thing pays off!
xoxo
Hello my lovelies! No outfit post today because it's one of those "blah" days for me. I have Thursdays off so I tend to use my time to exercise (ouchies) and do my reading, so I don't feel it's worth dressing up for! I did want to show you the lipstick I bought yesterday, though. I got it in my head that I needed to own a pink lipstick and so I picked up this lovely one in Superdrug!
As you can see I kept the rest of my make-up really simple, just mascara, concealer and blusher really. A bit boring but I think the lipstick brightens it up! The light today was a pain - don't get me wrong, I love the sunshine, but it makes taking photos a bit difficult!
Wearing: By Terry & Gosh concealer, Sleek blusher, Collection 2000 mascara, Barry M lipstick (145)
No-Foundation-February update: I'm still managing to forgo foundation...although as I'm not really doing anything today I'm not sure it counts! It's still super tempting to put some on, especially as I put on a mud mask yesterday and now I have a few nice little red bumps coming up, and my dark circles just look so awful... I shall prevail, though, and will keep you updated!
xoxo
Good afternoon my lovelies!
Today I just had to wear my latest purchase - dress, fitted, polka dots...simply perfect! I spotted this in New Look yesterday and had to try it on. I didn't think Peter Pan collars would suit me but I liked how it looked so of course I had to buy it (shameful secret - I went and bought the mustard-coloured one today after mulling over it all night!). I love the fit of this dress; it's rare I find a style I really really love so I think I'm justified in buying two! Also New Look are doing a 20% off student discount at the moment so I got the dress for about £22.
I decided to wear my fringe full-on today, it's a little bit heavy but it looks nicer with my hair up so I might do that more often, I never wear my hair up but it does seem to work with a fringe! I look so awkward in these photos, I was in a rush before my seminar this morning hence the stupid poses.
Finally, a little close up! The eagle-eyed among you may have noticed that I don't Photoshop the pictures of my face/make-up other than to resize them - this is because I feel it would be misleading any other way and you should be able to get a good idea of how products work on me! I'm wearing my usual products, with a few exceptions: the blusher is Sleek Rose Gold, which I picked up the other day, and of course I'm not wearing foundation! Speaking of which...
No-Foundation-February update: I feel so INSECURE without foundation. It's horrible, I feel I look really tired and haggard without it and I'm having a hard time getting used to not putting it on (I use it as concealer, with a light dusting of translucent powder over my oily bits). But I shall persevere in the hope that it does my skin some good! A shout-out must go to Franki over at The Little Curly Girl, who has joined me in my attempt to shun foundation for a full 28 days. Go wish her luck!
P.S - I have changed my font size because my photos are so massive - if you don't like it, or have trouble reading, let me know and I will change it back!
xoxo
Hello my honey-bunnies! I can't believe it's February already, where did January go? At the beginning of the year (my gosh we can say that already!) I contemplated cutting a shorter, straight-across fringe into my hair...and contemplated...and contemplated...and, well, I've finally done it! I left it slightly long so I can sweep it over to one side and if I feel like having a full-on fringe then I'll trim it a bit more.
I was a bit naughty today and bought myself a new dress in New Look AND this lovely snood from Dorothy Perkins. The dress I'll no doubt wear this week, but the snood is just so pretty I had to show you! I tried to take full length outfit photos but they came out rubbish, and as the dress I'm wearing has featured on here before I figured it didn't necessarily need to show up again. Practically my whole outfit is DP today, the dress is from there, as is the cardie, and then you have the snood as well!
I've read a lot on blogs about how people are starting Frugal February or doing 28 for 28 challenges. I considered doing one of these but, well, my loan should come in this month so why should I be frugal? (haw haw) I could try and do it but I really don't think my shopaholic side will take it (although I did stop myself from buying a sandwich in M&S today, which is a start!) and I'm not creative enough to manage with 28 pieces of clothing, although to be fair I wear the same items over and over so maybe I could...anyway, I've decided to try something I've made up myself and I shall call it NO FOUNDATION FEBRUARY.
I own far too many foundations and I've bought 3 in the last month, which is absolutely ridiculous. My mum always says the reason my skin is so bad is because I use foundation, so I wondered if I didn't use it, would my skin improve? I know you can't see blemishes in the photo above but trust me, in real life it's not a pretty sight!
Can I survive 28 days without foundation? Will my concealers be up to the task? Stay tuned to find out!
xoxo
