In yet another installment of our outings based entirely on something I've seen on Instagram, I dragged my husband and son (and mother-in-law, aka the only other member om our excursion who was looking forward to it) to the Hop Shop in Kent for the sole purpose of taking photos in their lavender fields.
Happily, it proved to be a huge success for all of us - my husband sampled freshly made pizza and ice cream on site, so he was happy; my mother-in-law (and I) came away with bags of products and lavender bunches; and Harry treated the rows of lavender like a maze, running away from us in fits of giggles. The farm itself is nestled in a stunning North Kent valley, and hold a number of events throughout the year, with all sorts of produce - I'm rather tempted to head back for a pick your own apple visit in the autumn!
Sadly lavender season is coming to a close now, but you can bet on me doing this again next year... and the year after that... and after that...
