Hello my lovelies,
So... it's February and I've only just managed to put together my first post of the year...not a good sign is it? We've had a bit of a rocky start to 2014 so far, but I strongly feel that things can only get better and I'm sticking to that! Well, I will start sticking to that as soon as I get over this horrid flu virus which has turned my throat to sandpaper and the rest of me into an achey bunged up walking tissue wad. It has actually given me some time to sit down with my laptop and cobble together something vaguely resembling a blogpost though. Well something had to tear me away from watching the entirety of Modern Family on Sky Go and consuming honey like it's going out of fashion.
How is everyone anyway? I feel it would be a little incongruous to start posting all my Christmas photos here today so I won't - instead I'll flip back to these photos taken the other week in my new coat (H&M sale purchase - regrettably the buttons have since made a dash for freedom and it has now been consigned to my mending pile, which has been on the rise since about 2009). It was raining, as always these days, hence the untamed barnet and hat!
Among other things I received a new lens for Christmas - the Canon 40mm, which I adore! - and I'm having fun getting to grips with it, as well as teaching Jon, I think he prefers it to the 50mm as he doesn't have to stand so far away from me! He took all of these and I am rather proud of his skills I must say.
This was really just a cosy look I threw together for some food shopping, when all I really want to do these days is stay in with a hot drink and some avocado toast (my new obsession). It may not be the most flattering look on me, but these days this is my daily uniform!
Another new purchase I can't wait to show you is my new foundation - believe me, my skin was utterly awful in these images but it made it look somewhat passable, and I'm not even wearing under-eye concealer! Fab stuff, review to follow soon!
On that note I've really enjoyed reading people's favourites recently and my wishlist has grown considerably, so I was wondering if I ought to bring that back? I remember in the early days I tried to keep up to date with all my beauty staples, but it kind of got lost along the way. Now I do have a stash to rival any beauty blogger (it takes up all the space in our en-suite AND second bathroom, rather embarrassing) so there's more than enough to show you! Let me know and I'll start actually photographing things...
Now my bed is beckoning, so I shall leave it at that. Glad to be back!
Dani xoxo
