Hi everyone! It has been such a hectic couple of weeks since my last post - I've since started a new job and am super excited about it, it's so nice to enjoy going to work in the mornings. Of course the only way for me to celebrate such a feat is to purchase new make-up and the first thing I picked up was this new release from Bourjois - the Volume 1 Seconde mascara.

 I'm the sort that likes to take ages slapping on my base in the mornings, then by the time I get round to doing my eyes I literally have seconds before I have to be out the door, so anything that promises excellent results in a second immediately is a lifesaver for me. I purchased the waterproof version as my lashes don't hold a curl otherwise and I hate touching up mascara - my usual go-to is L'Oreal's Telescopic so I had high hopes for this.

The packaging is really pretty and looks oh so sleek and shiny on my make-up table. The original formula has a beautiful coral band but as mine is waterproof it's a standard turquoise-blue instead. The brush is quite big - not Maybelline Colossal big, but still pretty huge and spiky! There are small bumps in between each spike as well which I assume help to apply product to the lashes - I haven't noticed any massive improvement in application though, it applies like any other mascara!

As you might see from the photo the mascara definitely delivers volume, although I would contest the 1 second claim. I usually brush through my lashes several times after first application to  ensure an even coating so it's more like ten seconds, but who's counting right?

In terms of longevity my lashes do droop a little after a few hours but they stay a nice thick black. This mascara reminds me a little bit of Benefit's They're Real as it delivers the same results on me but it's around £10 cheaper.

I do have to be honest - it's not my holy grail of mascaras just yet as I would prefer a little more length and better wear, but for under a tenner it does a decent enough job and performs as I would expect it to. The hunt continues!
