Hello my lovelies,
You're forgiven if you've completely forgotten who I am and why I am popping up in your feed - it has been over a month since my last post, in all fairness! I don't know what it is about winter but as the months pass it starts to sap all enjoyment from life and I find myself less inclined to dress up or make any effort with my appearance. Definitely a fair-weather blogger - it also doesn't help that I've been having massive body confidence issues...well, body, skin, hair, you name it, I probably dislike it! I'm doing my best to turn this around and have invested a little in skin care and more hair care products, as well as trying to control my comfort eating a bit. We've finally made it to March now though, and there appears to be a little, sunshiney light at the end of this tunnel - roll on spring!
These aren't actually pics from this weekend, or even this week; a couple of weeks ago my little sis came to stay, so I promptly caught a flu virus and stayed in bed for several days, thus ruining pretty much any plans we had to do stuff together. Eventually though, on her last day, I managed to make it down the stairs AND the sun came out, so she snapped a few pics for me. I regained a little bit of bounce with my favourite Starbucks treat (addicted to Peppermint Mocha frappuccinos - so so good!) and by the end of the day almost felt normal again!
I'm wearing so many layers in these images, it seems all I do these days is layer jumper upon jumper upon vest upon thermal leggings. All my little spring dresses are sitting in my wardrobe, clamouring to be let out without 100-denier accompaniments - hopefully their wishes (and mine) will be granted soon! The jumper I'm wearing here is an old George at Asda affair that has somehow stood the test of time and is whipped out when I need comfort - the shape is strangely flattering on me, and it has a polka dot bow (just obscured by my coat) so of course it is a winner.
The leggings are Dorothy Perkins and super comfy, if a little loose; I sized down and they still fall down on me, but oh well, for £18 I wasn't really expecting super quality. The coat is Warehouse via eBay and again it's too big on me, but it's snuggly and has a massive hood, and if I try and use my rubbish sewing skills on the buttons it might actually look a bit more flattering!
I say it every single time I blog but I am determined to get things going on here again - it's so easy to let things go when I'm feeling a bit down, or stressed, or ugly, or when I literally see no natural light for five days a week, but blogging does actually make me feel better as I feel like I've achieved something every time I press "publish" on a new post. Does anyone else feel this way? How do you battle the blogging blues?
xoxo
