Hello my lovelies,
I can't believe it's been a month since my last post - so sorry, and Happy New Year to you all!
I finally have internet in our flat so hopefully regular posting can resume again soon - I just need to circumnavigate the issues of lighting (every second of daylight is spent at work, unfortunately!) and time (again, work)...how does everyone else do it?
Bizarrely I have managed to keep my grubby mitts away from the sales this year, only purchasing a few bits and bobs with Christmas money and not splashing out on pieces I don't need - a miracle considering my usual shopping habits. I really need to knuckle down and save as much money as I possibly can from now on, especially if I want to actually get married this side of 30. I turn 25 this year and it's about time I learned how to be good with money! Don't fret though, I'm sure I'll be able to squeeze in the odd purchase here and then; I shall simply veer away from the shopaholic ways of my uni days (how many foundations does a girl need, really?!) and only spend when I really need to (i.e when my mascara is so dry it falls off my lashes mere seconds after applying). Any encouragement in this would be excellent indeed!
Anyway, let's kick off 2013 with a quick outfit post, shall we?
The "top" is one of my afore-mentioned sale buys: it's actually a rather short dress but I adore the colour and the embellished collar, plus it is smart enough for work when paired with my Reiss skirt. Here though, I went for my usual faux-schoolgirl look (what can I say, I was deprived of school uniform whilst in full-time education!), teaming it with my trusty old ASOS check skirt. The tights were a super buy from H&M as they are so cosy and warm, as well as being slightly more interesting than boring black! Please do excuse the background - yes, that quagmire of mud is what greets us every day...also I promise I'm not trying to advertise that the flats opposite us are for sale (although, well, they are, so if you move in...erm, hi I'm that girl taking outfit shots in full view of everyone, including the passing trains).
Now, I'm off to spend what's left of my Sunday cooking one of my favourite meals for my adopted family (if you've never tried tartiflette, then your life is as yet unfulfilled) and expectantly waiting for the new series of Glee - being without internet means I am thus musical-deprived!
Have a lovely week everyone, and thank you for sticking by me through my forced absence!
xoxo
Dani
