Hi lovelies,
I'm in rambling mode at the moment, be warned... April thus far has been quite a hectic month, with a couple of whirlwind trips to Vienna and Luxembourg, my birthday, my first hen party, and a visit to the Harry Potter studio tour coming up this weekend (I am so excited). I thought after my depressing homesickness ramble the other day, I'd try and write about a couple of things that have made me very happy indeed this month!
Seeing my family
After a couple of months without them, I was reunited with my beloved sibs not once, but twice this month. I love spending time with them, they always make me giggle! For the first time in years I had both my sisters and my mum with me on my birthday and it just made the day so much better. Vienna with my dad and siblings was such a blast too, I'll pop up a photo diary soon once I've made my photo choices - I took 600 photos over three days!
My birthday!
I was a very lucky girl this year! I'm planning a little round up of the things I got as they're so exciting, I was very spoilt indeed. Despite waking up to a 9am doctor's appointment on the day, I got some beautiful beauty bits, jewellery, a bespoke painting by my sister with copper hearts (!) and some stunning cards. Hilariously Jon ended up getting me the same card as last year - there really is a dearth of fiancé/fiancée cards out there! Thank goodness this is the last one, next year I'll be getting cards saying happy birthday wife, woo! My lovely colleagues at the office made me a surprise cake and got me some gorgeous Oliver Bonas goodies too - so exciting! Beats having to bring in your own treats, that's for sure!
Our joint hen/stag party
Oh my goodness. What a day! I was always going to have two hen parties as my friends and family are split between the UK and Luxembourg, so we planned the first one quite early on to ensure everyone could make it. Well, my sisters planned it and it was meticulous, organised and absolutely brilliant. We decided to include the boys and made it into a bit of a competition, which resulted in a delightful afternoon following a trail of clues around Luxembourg City for a scavenger hunt. It was so much fun and I smiled from start to finish! We then ended things in style with delicious cupcakes and an amazing Mexican meal. I loved seeing friends I haven't seen for ages, and it was such a great way to kick things off. Jon and I also got the chance to do our own lovers' padlock high above the city, it ws amazing!
Spring in bloom
Spring is my absolute favourite season - I'll even endure the inevitable hayfever just to embrace the joys of all the flowers blooming, the sunshine and the brighter evenings! I've been trying to walk more to increase my daily step count and it's such a delight when there are sights like these to behold round every corner. I know everyone posts blossom photos this time of year, but how can you resist when they're so pretty? When I was young my grandad and I used to make a regular trip to the local orchard to view the blossoms, as we share a birthday, so I always associate blossom with my birthday now!
What's making you happy at the moment? Share your thoughts with me! :)
Love Dani
xoxo

I've been loving the sun we've had in the UK at the moment! And being with family at the start of the month for Easter was great too. Glad you've had a happy month as well!
