...but this time next week I will, for the first time since primary school, be wearing glasses again. The ones I've picked out are quite similar to these:
I must confess I'm weirdly a bit nervous about wearing glasses again! It's probably because I'm not used to it at all, and in the optician's yesterday I'd try glasses on and not recognise the person in the mirror...Anyway, I'm sure time will help with all that, and with glasses as pretty as these I'm sure I'll get used to them in no time! But I was wondering, what kind of make-up suits glasses? Usually I like to pile on the liquid liner, or bulk up with mascara, but my eyes look different behind lenses. Any ideas for glamming up your eyes whilst wearing glasses, or am I worrying about nothing at all?

Hi, it depends on what your prescription is. If you're wearing glasses for short-sightedness (distance vision) it will make your eyes look smaller, so you can do a smoky eye or something bolder and it'll look hot. If you're wearing them for close vision, it will magnify your eyes and highlight any mistakes or smudges so it's best to keep it simple with a bit of liquid liner and natural brown-tone eye shadows. Heavy black frames look great with a slick of lip gloss or nude lippy but you can also glam up with bright red lips. With a statement like that, don't overdo the rest of your look or it'll slide from Hollywood glam to drag very quickly!
ReplyDeleteOh thank you :) I am short-sighted so I'll work on trying to make my eyes stand out a bit more! I've yet to master the perfect smoky eye (I just end up looking like a panda) but I shall persevere according to your recommendation :) I don't usually wear anything other than lip balm or a tinted lip balm on my lips but this will give me an excuse to go lipstick shopping, excellent!x
